Get to know one of your Indianhead/Lehigh neighbors better. Talk about what’s on your mind. 

An elder and a volunteer talk on the phone weekly or less often, or arrange for in-person visits, if preferred. It is a great way to reduce the isolation and loneliness while providing the flexibility to maintain social distancing if desired

One Friday in April 2020, a few neighbors surprised a resident on her 74th birthday with an outdoor Happy Birthday serenade that included appropriate social distancing. One of the serenaders even put on a dress for the occasion. The flamingos stayed after the singers left as a lasting, tasteful birthday gift. We can sing for you too. If there is a birthday or anniversary to be noticed, let us know. WARNING: One of the serenaders cannot sing on tune. However, no one noticed. Musicians and all others are welcome to join the fun.

 A volunteer can bring clients to the grocery store, assist them with their shopping and then bring them home.

They can also drop a client at the store and arrange to pick them up when their shopping is done.

Or a volunteer can pick up your grocery list and do the shopping for you and you can pay them when they drop off the groceries.

Need a prescription picked up or dropped off? Our volunteers can do that. Or they can give you a ride to the drug store or doctor and back.

While Indianhead/Lehigh yards have some of the most beautiful trees in Tallahassee, sometimes they can become a challenge to maintain. Mowing grass, raking leaves, and trimming plants are just a few ways our volunteers can lighten the load of elders in the neighborhood.

Volunteers bring their own equipment and coordinate with you on yard work projects.

If you prefer, N3 can also provide referrals to yard maintenance professionals and nurseries that can deliver plants to you.

Need help changing a light bulb? Reattaching a screen door? N3 volunteers can help with some lightweight home maintenance projects. Or N3 can refer you to professionals if volunteers aren't able to help.

Neighbor to Neighbor in the Nenes has tech support volunteers to help with a variety of technological challenges. From blocking unwanted calls to support with assistive devices, we are happy to take the time to troubleshoot problems and seek a solutions.

If you know any elders who do not have access to the Internet and would like help with this, please tell them to call us at 850-901-7818.

Washing machine broken? Back hurting when you load the dryer? A volunteer will come to your home to pick up the laundry, wash it at the volunteer’s home, and return it to your home two - three days later folded or hung up. No charge. (But no ironing.)

Available for regular delivery or during a specific time of need, like after a surgery or other medical event. N3 volunteers can cook and drop off meals straight to your doorstep. Volunteers can coordinate with you to work with any dietary restrictions, and will deliver a meal within an agreed upon window of time.

Volunteers are available to provide transportation to doctor's appointments, and run errands (grocery pick-up, the library, social events).

Keeping homes free of clutter is important for both mental health and physical safety - but it becomes more and more challenging once you’ve lived in one house for a long time! A volunteer can assist in organizing cluttered spaces and removing unwanted objects.

Dust bunnies watch out! House cleaning is one of the ways that Neighbor to Neighbor in the Nenes can support elders and caregivers in the neighborhood. Our volunteers will come and clean homes for those who need a little extra help, free of charge.
